My name is Will Hinesley, and I am a second-year Mechatronics Engineering major at the University of North Carolina Asheville. I initially attended Appalachian State University for Computer Science, but I quickly learned that my passion lies in robotics, where software meets hardware. This led me to transfer to the Joint NCSU/UNCA Mechatronics Engineering program, and I haven't looked back.
I love to learn new things and thus I spend my time outside of the classroom picking up as much as I can. I thoroughly enjoy finding real-world connections between my classes and experimenting with various projects. My main passion lies in additive manufacturing, and I usually incorporate it into every project as it is extremely versatile. I also love learning new skills to prepare me for the future, such as advanced CAD, PCB design, and soldering. I have taught myself these skills for use in my projects, and it has enhanced my toolkit. When I am not working on engineering projects, I am usually lying back watching a movie.
